Stanley E. Kolosik

Stanley Earl  Kolosik, 87, died February 17, 2023 at Rose Haven Nursing Home in Marengo, Iowa. He was born April 6, 1935 to Orval and Mildred Wiggins Kolosik on the family farm near North English, Iowa. He graduated from English Valleys High School in 1953. He married Marilyn Mason in 1955 and they later divorced. Stan was employed at Wilson Packing House in Cedar Rapids and worked at the creameries in North English and Brooklyn. In 1962 he moved back to North English to the family farm to raise dairy cattle and hogs. On March 21, 1975 he married Lorraine Osweiler in Missouri. Stan enjoyed music, dances, watching motocross, basketball, Hawkeyes and cooking at the Iowa State Fair at the Cattlemen’s Beef Tent. He was a member of the Iowa County Cattlemen’s and the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association.                      
  He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Vance Kolosik, sister Myrna Britten and an infant brother Lyle Kolosik.   
  He is survived by his wife Lorraine, daughter Bonnie (Dave) Hackert of Sigourney, two sons Robin (Carrie) Kolosik of Swisher, Shawn (Dawn) Kolosik of Walford, two stepsons Doug (Debi) Flanders of Sigourney, Jerry (Janice) Flanders of Des Moines, ten grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren one brother Lynn (Norma) Kolosik of North English, and sister Frances Christian of Arizona.
