Mae Peiffer, 96, died March 24, 2021 at The Views Senior Living of Marion in Marion. She was born January 27, 1925 to David and Lucy Frazier McDonough in Melrose, Iowa.  She attended country school near Melrose.  On April 20, 1948 she married Norbert Peiffer at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Clear Creek.   Mae was employed at Manor House in Sigourney and later Amana Refrigeration until she retired. She lived and farmed East of Sigourney and in 2009 she moved to Marion.  She was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and later St. Mary Catholic Curch, Altar and Rosary Society, and the Sunshine Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Norbert on December 21, 1994, daughters Eileen Gruenhagen and Angela Peiffer, son LaVern Peiffer, sister Faye Jones, two brothers Arthur McDonough and James McDonough.

She is survived by daughters Marlene (Jim) Potter of Marion and Burnita Peiffer of Williamsburg, 11 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and sister Lucille Kendell of Albia
