Dorothy R. Jacobs

Dorothy Ruth Jacobs, 97, died August 29, 2019 at the Keokuk County Health Center in Sigourney. She was born May 28, 1922 to Adolph and Pearl Sharpe Votruba. She attended school in Kalona. Dorothy was employed at the Washington button factory.  On May 17, 1969 she married Eugene “Gene” Francis Jacobs in Lancaster, Missouri. She was a member of the Sigourney Baptist church, she volunteered at the Sigourney Care Center and attended many Bible study groups.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gene on March 5, 2004, sister Margaret Vinton, two brothers Charles and John Votruba, and step-daughter Patricia Donaldson.
She is survived by her children two sons Dan (Joni) Dawson of Marion, Mark Dawson of  Pasadena, California, one  sister Lucille (Jack) Bonham of Washington,  one grandchild Zachary (Stacy) of Minneapolis, Minnesota, one great-granddaughter Delaney Dawson, three step-grandchildren Kay Wilson of Albia, Tina Patton of Des Moines, Tanja Evan of Rose Hill.
