Dorothy Buehneman

Dorothy Marie Buehneman, 86, died November 17, 2020 at the Sigourney Health Care Center in Sigourney.

Dorothy was born May 27, 1934, Clifton G. and Dora Letha (Patterson) Pilkington in Sigourney, Iowa.  She graduated from Sigourney High School in 1952.  On December 7, 1952 she married Carroll Buehneman at the Christian Church in Sigourney. They lived and farmed in the Sigourney area from 1952 to 1972. They moved to Fairfield for 11 years and returned to the Sigourney area. Dorothy was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Sigourney. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends

She is survived by her children: Craig (Essie Meyer) Buehneman of Sigourney, Steve (Vicky) Buehneman of rural Delta, Michael (Brenda) Buehneman of Sigourney, Barb (Steve) Morse of Iowa City; eight grandchildren: Shelly, Alan, Tami, Bryan, Jenny, Mitzi, Melony, and Trevor; thirteen great-grandchildren; and one brother Robert (Connie) Pilkington of Pensacola, FL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Carroll on April 6, 1994; and daughter-in-law, Shirley Buehneman.

As were Dorothy’s wishes, she was cremated and a private burial is planned at the Pennington Cemetery with her family.
