Yvonne "Bonnie" Mallinger

Yvonne "Bonnie" Mallinger, of Ottumwa formerly of Sigourney, died August 30, 2013 at the Hospice House in Ottumwa, Iowa. She was born June 30, 1924 to Clarence Guy and Emily Evelyn Bennett Brace Engle. In early life she was a professional dancer and dance instructor. At the age of 9 years Bonnie danced and performed at the 1934 Chicago Worlds Fair. She graduated from Sigourney High School in 1942 and attended Beauty Academy in Ottumwa. On September 14, 1949 she married Robert John Mallinger. Bonnie owned and operated Evelyn's Beauty Shop for over 30 years and worked as a cashier for Mallinger Auction in Sigourney. She served as president of Iowa Auctioneer's Women's Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bob on August 2, 1988 and her parents.
She is survived by her daughter Kathy Lee of Ottumwa, granddaughter Karolyn "Kari" and her husband T.J. Nydle of Rock Island, Illinois and sister in law and brother in law Dennis and Marguerite Seaba of Sigourney.

Visitation: 4:00- 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at the Holm Funeral Home in Sigourney.
