Walter Wickenkamp

Walter Henry Wickenkamp, 93, died May 12, 2017 at the Keokuk County Health Center in Sigourney, Iowa. He was born December 28, 1923 to Karl and Clara Ollinger Wickenkamp near Sigourney. He attended rural schools near Sigourney and served in the United States Army. Walter farmed with his brother Omer. On May 11, 1950 he married Betty Ann Sharp at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church at Clear Creek. They lived and farmed south of Sigourney all of their married life. He played banjo with the Wickenkamp Brothers and he loved to hunt and fish. He was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church for 63 years and later Saint Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son David, two brothers Omer and Floyd Wickenkamp, one infant grandson, and two infant great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Betty, three sons Dale (Linda) Wickenkamp of Ollie, Steven Wickenkamp of Oskaloosa, Dean (Donna) Wickenkamp of Brighton, ten grandchildren, eleven great- grandchildren, and one brother Frank Wickenkamp of Sigourney.

A Private Family Service will be held.
