Treva Grimm

April 6, 1916 — May 25, 2010

Treva Charlene Grimm, daughter of Charles Perry and Oral Markwell Andes, was born April 6, 1916 near North English, Iowa. She died at age 94 on May 25, 2010 at the English Valley Care Center, where she had been a resident since October 2008. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 26, at 10:30 a. m. at the North English Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Children's Program at the North English Library.
She graduated from Webster Consolidated High School in 1934. She married Lloyd Byron Grimm on October 22, 1934 at Unionville, Missouri. Together they farmed in the North English-Millersburg area until moving to North English in 1971. Treva was a homemaker and did cashier work at various retail establishments in Iowa County until the mid-1990s. She was an accomplished seamstress and was especially skilled in creating beautiful clothing, quilts and wall hangings.
Treva was preceded in death by her husband (November 25, 1998); her parents; one son, Larry Lee Grimm (December 18, 2002); sisters, Leona Andes Johnson and Dorothy Andes Goodman. She is survived by two sons, Jimmie Lloyd (Barbara) Grimm, Bloomington, Illinois and Charles Richard "Dick" Grimm, Edmonds, Washington; four grandsons, David Grimm and Daniel Grimm, Augusta, Kansas, Michael Grimm, Seattle, Washington, and Andrew Grimm, Bloomington, Illinois; one granddaughter, Sarah Grimm (Jeffrey) Lopper, Cincinnati, Ohio.
