Thomas C. Park

December 4, 1936 — April 25, 2012

Thomas Carroll Park, 75, of Sigourney, died Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at the Keokuk County Health Center. He was born December 4, 1936 in Sioux City, Iowa to Loren and Mildred Van Horn Park. He graduated High School in Dixon, Nebraska in 1955, served in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1958 and then attended Wayne State College for 3 years. On August 9, 1959 he married Mary Anne Peterson in Concord, Nebraska. He was employed by Postal Finance for over 20 years, serving as Vice President of Finance. They moved to Sigourney in 1981 where they owned and operated the Fairlane Motel until retiring in 2002. He later worked for K&L Foods and the Dollar General Store. He served on the Sigourney City Council and as Mayor of Sigourney. He was a member of the Sigourney United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Claire and Lysle Park.
He is survived by his wife Mary, two daughters Karen and husband Roger De Kok of Mt. Vernon South Dakota, Lori and husband Richard Strong of Eden,Utah, 3 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 3 step-great-grandchildren, a brother Loren and wife Dorothy Park of Wayne, Nebraska, and 3 step-sisters.

His body was deeded to the University of Iowa according to his wishes. There are no services at this time.
Arrangements are by the Holm Funeral Home, in Sigourney.
