Suzanne Renee Garrels

Suzanne Renee Garrels, 55, died April 10, 2020 at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center in Des Moines.  She was born December 23, 1964 to Gene Criswell and Janet Sue (Griffith) Hinrichsen in Nebraska.  She attended high school in Fremont and Fairfield. On November 14, 1987 she married Ronald Garrels near Ollie.   Suzanne was employed as a CNA at the Sigourney Manor House for over 10 years.  She bowled in the Thursday night bowling league in Sigourney and was a diehard Chicago Cubs fan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two grandchildren Keaton Garrels and Maci Garrels.

She is survived by her husband Ron, children Korey Garrels of Farson, Tabitha (Brett) Wright of Sigourney, Mackenzie Garrels of Farson, 5 grandchildren Izabella Phillips, Zane Overturf, Ryder Garrels, Lane Wright, and Olivia Wright, sisters Becky Criswell of Ottumwa, Kim Criswell of Danville, brother Ted Criswell of South English, many nieces and nephews.

Due to state and federal guidance on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will not be having a public memorial at this time.
