Stanley Vogel

Stanley Charles Vogel, 87, died April 18, 2016 at Keokuk County Health Center in Sigourney, IA. He was born August 5, 1928 to Joseph and Maud (Clarahan) Vogel near Harper, IA. Stanley attended school in Harper. On November 15, 1950 he married Irene Harkins in Harper. Stanley had a brief enlistment in the Army at Camp Chaffee, Arkansas in 1951. They lived on the family farm in Harper until moving to Keswick in 1952. They resided near Keswick for 17 years until moving to his current farm in 1970 west of Sigourney, where he was a crop farmer and livestock producer. He continued to be active on the farm to present day.
Stanley enjoyed the Iowa State Fair and sharing his camper with the grandchildren and rarely missed a sporting event of his children or grandchildren. He enjoyed helping the children and grandchildren with their home and farm projects, regardless big or small. He enjoyed following the Davis County Mustangs, Sigourney Savages and the Iowa Hawkeyes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Irene, Brother Joseph, Sister Marie Oliver and daughter-in-law Cynthia Vogel.
He is survived by his three children: Leon Vogel of Bloomfield, Linda (Larry) Northup of Sigourney, Rhonda (Brian) Roberts of Bloomfield. Seven grandchildren: Todd and Troy Vogel both of Bloomfield, Kylie Weber of Kalona, Kellie Northup of Kalona, Keaton Northup of Waterloo, Preston Roberts of Fairfield and Austin Roberts of Bloomfield. Five great-grandchildren: Quincey Vogel, Grayci and Londyn Vogel, Brady and Brooks Weber, his sister Dorothy Fisher of Sigourney and brother Gordon Vogel of Kentucky.

Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 22,2016, at the Holm Funeral Home.
Visitation: Thursday 4:00 - 7:00 P.M.
Burial: Pleasant Grove Cemetery - Sigourney
