Shirley M. Holeton, 85, died August 3, 2016, at the English Valley Care Center in North English, Iowa. She was born May 31, 1931 to Leonard "Curly" and Myrtle Lane Kirkpatrick in Webster, Iowa. The family moved to South English when Shirley was 4 years old. Shirley graduated from South English High School in 1949. On December 22, 1950, she married Milford Stanley Holeton in Cedar Rapids. They made their home in South English until 1956, when they moved to North English where they reared their 6 children. Shirley was employed by the Townhouse in Sigourney, English Valley Care Center, and worked as a home health care provider to several families in the area before retiring in 1998. Shirley enjoyed dancing, good ballroom music and playing cards at the North English Community Center. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in North English.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, son David Holeton, three brothers Jimmy Kirkpatrick, Eldon Kirkpatrick, and an infant, and her special cousin Gene Lane.

She is survived by her children M. Kathleen Warfield of Sigourney, Janean (Robert) Blake of Marion, John Holeton of South English, Susan Holeton of Sigourney, R. Kirk Holeton (Shelly Baird Westfall) of South English, 18 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, one sister Mary Helen Riley of Moberly, Missouri.

Mass: Monday August 8, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. St. Joseph's Catholic Church in North English
Visitation: Monday 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in North English
Burial: South English Cemetery at a later date
