Ruth White Walsh

Ruth Maxine White Walsh, 96, died March 22, 2017 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was born January 15, 1921 to Aaron and Laura Smith near Marshalltown, Iowa. She attended country school near Marshalltown. On November 27, 1939 she married Carroll Burnis White in Willow Springs, Missouri. He died November 19, 1983. She was employed as a maid in California while Carroll was in the service. They returned to Marshalltown and moved to a farm south of Delta in 1952. She worked at Big Smith Overall Factory in Oskaloosa. They moved into Sigourney in 1972. She was employed at the Sigourney Care Center for 15 years. She later married Ralph Walsh, he died February 14, 2008. Ruth moved to Cedar Rapids to be near her daughter in 2010.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, six sisters Laura Smith, Carrie Smith, Hazel Johnston, Rose Swearingin, Mildred Resslar, Nora Ferris, four brothers Bob Smith, Aaron Smith, Millard Smith, Roy Smith.

She is survived by her daughter and husband Lynda and Ron Dicken of Cedar Rapids.
