Ruth Seiwert

Florence Ruth Seiwert, 102, died Wednesday, May 01, 2013, at the Keokuk County Health Center. She was born December 24, 1910 near Keswick, Iowa to Edward and Mary Etta Scott Morrison. She graduated from Keswick High School in 1927. On July 27, 1932 she married Clemens Peter Seiwert in What Cheer, Iowa. They lived and farmed in Keokuk County all their lives, moving east of Sigourney in 1949. They retired and moved to town in 1989. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney, the Alter and Rosary Society, and the Friendly 16 Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clemens on February 5, 1991, her son John Seiwert, a grandson Mark Seiwert, a sister Hattie Wilkerson, and 7 brothers Ellis, Forrest, Edward, Orville, Roscoe, Elmer, and Raymond Morrison.
She is survived by a son Keith Seiwert of Sarasota, Florida, a daughter Marilyn (Fremont) Sieren of Sigourney, 10 grandchildren, 22 great- grandchildren, 8 step great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, 13 step great-great-grandchildren, 1 step great-great-great-grandchild, a sister Mary Ferne Franklin, of Waukee, Iowa and two sisters-in-law, Irene Morrison of Sigourney and Dorothy Morrison of Des Moines.

Funeral Service-10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney.
Visitation-5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2013
Prayer Service- 5:00 p.m. Friday at the Holm Funeral Home
