Rose Mary Shannon

Rose Mary Shannon, 85, died August 2, 2020 at the Keokuk County Health Center in Sigourney, Iowa.  She was born October 17, 1934 to Richard and Margaret (Sondag) Merz in Harper, Iowa.  She graduated from St. Elizabeth Catholic School in Harper.  On December 29, 1954 she married Raymond Patrick Shannon.  They lived all their life in Sigourney.  She was employed at Coast to Coast, Midwest One Bank, and The Main Street Florist.  Rose Mary volunteered for Hospice of Keokuk County and Sigourney Elementary.  She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons Tim and Jeff Shannon, sister Burnita Besser and brother Ron Merz.

She is survived by her husband Raymond "Pat" Shannon of Sigourney, sons Rik (Carol) Shannon of Des Moines, Iowa, Terry (Susan) Shannon of Kansas City, Missouri, Randy (Karen) Shannon of Glenrock, Wyoming, 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, three sisters Jeanette Hammes of Sigourney, Marlene Hammes of Delta, Danita Keller of Peoria, Arizona.
