Ron Greeson

Ronald L. Greeson, 82, died August 26, 2026, at his home in Sigourney, Iowa. He was born September 6, 1943, at Jefferson County Hospital to Harold and Edith (Davis) Greeson. Ron graduated from Richland High School in 1961 and earned his teaching degree from William Penn College in 1965. During his time at William Penn he also played basketball. On February 3, 1962, he married Linda Baker at the Richland Methodist Church.

Ron began his career in education, teaching for four years in Preston, Iowa. He then would go onto work for a short time as a bank examiner before beginning a long career in banking. Over the years, he worked at Richland Union Bank, Hayesville Bank, and Paris National Bank in Missouri, where he remained until his retirement in 2008.

Throughout his life, Ron was active in his communities and served as a member of Rotary, the Economic Development Board, and the Paris National Bank Board. He served as council member and Mayor of Richland. He was also an active member of the Methodist Church in Richland. In 2021, Ron and Linda moved to Sigourney. He enjoyed golfing and boating, but most of all, he treasured spending time with his family.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents; his infant brother; and his mother-in-law, Irene Baker.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Greeson of Sigourney; his children, Ron (Diana) Greeson of Ollie, Sandy Capaccio of Wilmington, North Carolina, and Doug (Julie) Greeson of Packwood; four grandchildren, Chris Sullivian, Sarah (Nathan) Wood, Anna (Domenico) Grillo, and Nick Capaccio; seven great-grandchildren, Nicole, Davin, Olivia, Atticus, Brayden, Masen, and Ainslee; and his sisters, Rosie Johnson and Karolyn White, both of Globe, Arizona.

Visitation: Sunday August 30, 2026 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Be The Light Ministry in Sigourney.
