Roger Barr

Roger Willis Barr, 71, of Coralville, died July 27, 2011 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. He was born September 15, 1939 in New London, Iowa to Jesse and Dorcas Ball Barr. He graduated from Washington High School. On March 16, 1961 he married Nancy Arlene Vinton at the First Baptist Church in Washington.
He served eight years in the Iowa National Guard. Roger was employed by Don Palmer Interior Decorating , Hawkeye Food Service and various construction companies as a millwright. They lived in Keota for many years. He retired in 2003 and they moved to Coralville in 2008.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Those left to mourn his passing is his wife Nancy of Coralville, daughter Christine and husband Paul Williams of Rose Hill, son Carl and his wife Tracy Barr of New Sharon, 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, four sisters Wynona Woods, Vada Secrest, Alice Hesser, Hazel Sinn and a brother William Barr all of Washington.

Funeral Service-11:00a.m. Saturday July 30, 2011 at the Holm Funeral Home, Sigourney.
Visitation- Friday 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
A memorial fund has been established.
