Robert Montz

Robert Morgan Montz, 84, of Webster, died Saturday March 10, 2012, at the Keokuk County Health Center in Sigourney. He was born June 6, 1927 in rural Webster, the son of Noel Wilson and Helen Morgan Montz. He graduated from Webster High School in 1945, and served in the United States Navy until the end of the war. He then returned to the family farm in rural Webster. On July 2, 1950 he married Shirley Florene Killian at the Methodist Church in Keswick. He and his wife lived in the Webster area all of their life, where they operated the family farm.
He was a member of the Keswick American Legion, the Webster United Methodist Church, English Valley School Board and the Webster Fire Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Noel and Helen Montz, a sister Gertrude Poole, and an infant brother Dean Wilson Montz.
He is survived by his wife Shirley, 3 sons Avery (Carol) Montz of Webster, IA, Neil (Debbie) Montz of Albia, IA, Kim (Kimberly) Montz of Webster, NY, 7 grandchildren Noel, Craig (Tina), Ryan (Teri), Caleb, Nathan, Rachel, Cyan Montz, 3 Great-grandchildren Aiden, Conner, Lason Montz, sister Margaret Harman of Waterloo, IA and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service-10:30 A.M. Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at the Webster United Methodist Church.
Visitation-6:00 to 7:30 P.M. Tuesday at Holms Funeral Home (with the family present).
Burial-Sorden Cemetery near Webster.
