Richard Nicholas Weber, 86, of Sigourney, died Sunday August 11, 2013 following an extended illness with COPD. He had been at the Manor House since July 8. He was born February 17, 1927, in Clear Creek to John C. and Clara (Buch) Weber. He graduated from Saints Peter and Paul Catholic School.
He farmed all of his life in Keokuk County and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney. He served in the United States Army May 1945 - December 1946 , including an overseas tour in Italy. He was a member of Lacy Kerr V.F.W. post 2308 in Sigourney. He married Nancy Joann Ulin on April 16, 1955 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney.
He is survived by his wife; daughter Joyce (Terry) Farmer of Delta; sons Jerry (Tina) Weber of Sigourney, and Jim (Janis) Weber of Sigourney; and daughter Janette (Mark) of Onalaska, Wisconsin. He is further survived by 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; brother Alvin of Sigourney; sisters Lorena Bair of Keswick, Geraldine (AJ) Cavin of Sigourney, Carol Weber of Cedar Rapids, and Connie (Mike) Strabala of Cedar Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Marie Snakenberg.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 16, 2013 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 15, 2013 at the Holm Funeral Home where a Prayer Service will begin at 5:00 p.m.
Memorial are to Keokuk Co. Hospice, Manor House Aid Fund, V.F.W. Flag Fund, or his Church.
