Richard "Dick" Walden

Richard David Walden, 86 died August 28, 2026 at the Manor House in Sigourney. He was born March 22,1940, to Leo and Zola Dugger Walden near What Cheer, Iowa. He graduated from Delta High School in 1958. Dick worked as a farm hand in his youth. On September 9, 1963, he married Connie Sue Thorburn at the Presbyterian Church in Sigourney. Later he was employed at the What Cheer Pottery, Middleton Feed in What Cheer, W.C. Gretter in Harper for over 40 years. After he retired, he worked for John Crill and was the sexton at Garrett Cemetery for many years. Dick enjoyed horses. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Carolyn Walden, his siblings Naomi Lally, Wuanita Fisher, James Walden, Eloise Rose and Ronald Walden.

He is survived by his wife Connie Walden of Delta.
