Raymond Herman

Raymond Herman, 93, died March 17, 2009 at the Sigourney Care Center. He was born June 8, 1915 to Jacob and Mary Haupert Herman north of Sigourney.
He attended Webster High School. Raymond served in the United States Army. On April 11, 1950 he married Rita Jean Weber at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney. They lived and farmed northeast of Sigourney all of their lives. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Leo Farmer American Legion Post 19.
He was preceded in death by his wife Rita Jean on November 2, 1996, his parents, two brothers Earl and William Herman, sister Gertrude Vittetoe.
Those left to mourn his passing are his children Nancy and her husband Bill Ruhs, of Cedar Rapids Terry and his wife Tammy Herman of Sigourney, Larry Herman of Sigourney, five granddaughters Amy and Michelle Ruhs, of Cedar Rapids, Ashley, Danielle and Courtney Herman of Sigourney, and a special friend Verna Adams of Sigourney.

Funeral Mass - 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 23, 2009 at the St Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney.
Burial - Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Sigourney, Iowa
Visitation - After 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the Holm Funeral Home, Sigourney, where a Pray Service will begin at 7:00 p.m.

A memorial fund has been established.
