Randy Fisher

September 24, 1961 — March 24, 2026

Sigourney

Randal Lee “Randy” Fisher, 64, of Sigourney, Iowa, passed away the morning of Tuesday, March 24, 2026, in Iowa City, Iowa, surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 24, 1961, in Sigourney, Iowa, Randy was the beloved son of Cloyd Jr. Fisher and Mabel “Reber” Fisher; both of which are still with us. He spent his life rooted in the community he loved, living in Sigourney and Keswick and building a legacy defined by hard work and unwavering devotion to those around him.

Randy attended Sigourney High School. He dedicated 40 years maintaining feed mills, where he became known for his expertise, skill, and dedication. Acquiring many friends along the way. He was a man who took pride in his work and found joy in helping others, always willing to lend a hand or share a story. Randy’s life was focused around 5 “F” words: Family, Friends, Fishing, Farming, and Fixing. He would drop anything he was doing for the people he loved, he never met a stranger, and he was never afraid to strike up a conversation… especially about a tractor at the Iowa State Fair. He looked forward to his bi-annual Canadian fishing trips, but enjoyed fishing in the pond behind the house just as well. He was always proud to make the latest smoked meat creation for those around him. He thrived off hosting and providing for others. If something was broken, Randy was the one you called—because chances were, he could fix it.

To his family, he was so much more than a hardworking man—he was a source of strength and comfort. A devoted husband, father, brother, and grandfather. Randy is survived by his loving wife, Coleen “Hudson” Fisher, whom he married on September 3rd, 1999. He was previously united in marriage on June 16, 1984, to Kim Sauer from which his daughter, Amanda Lea Snakenberg (Tyler), was born; they later divorced. Through his marriage to Coleen, he gained a beloved bonus daughter, Brittany Renee Peterson (Sayer), and together they shared a daughter, Skyler Kathleen Fisher (Walter McKay). He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Ellie Thrapp (Colton), John Berg, Wyatt Peterson, and Maggie Peterson; and his siblings, Susan King, Amy Molyneux (Kevin), Steve Fisher, Mary Fowler (Ed), Kathleen Fisher (Fredrik Hausmann), mother in law Loretta "Synhorst Hudson, sister-in-law Renee Hudson (David Nicholson) nieces and nephews Melissa Van Donselaar (Dan), Aaron Molyneux (Cindy),  Joe Fowler, Josh Fowler (Haley), Sara Ackerman (Zach), Samantha Nicholson, Alexandria Nicholson and was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Fisher,  brother in law David King and father in law Jerry Hudson.

Taken far too soon, Randy was a strong man who had courageously beat cancer, facing each day with determination and resilience. Even in the hardest moments, he remained willing to help others, offer advice, or simply share his time. He will be remembered as a man who made life better for everyone around him.
