Nick Smith

Nick Smith, 52, died April 30, 2014 at his home in Sigourney, Iowa after a long battle with cancer. Nick was born April 24, 1962 to Hubert and Anna Mae Kephart Smith in Sigourney. He attended Sigourney High School. Nick owned and operated Smith Plastering where his art of plastering remains in homes and businesses for years to come. For the last seven years Nick worked at Keota Meat Processing. Nick liked being outdoors and enjoyed fishing, mushrooming, hunting arrowheads, gardening and especially growing pumpkins. He loved spending time with granddaughter Lexi and his beloved pets Tesla, Festus, and Angus.
He is survived by his wife Kelly of Sigourney, son Scott Smith of Fort Madison,granddaughter Lexi Smith of Ottumwa, two sisters Barb (Terry) Fritchen, Kathie (Ray) Hammes both of Sigourney, two brothers Doug Smith of Washington, and Eric Smith of Cedar Rapids.
Nick was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Vickie Montague.
Nicks wishes were to be cremated.
