Maureen was born to Joseph J. Dolan and Leona S. Andresen Dolan on June 30, 1946. Maureen was eldest of the first set of triplets born in Dubuque, Iowa. Raised in Dubuque Iowa, she had a passion for recreational outdoor activities by being part of the Dubuque Recreational Society Program for Adolescents. She was a 1964 graduate of Wahlert Catholic High School in Dubuque, IA. She married William R. Menster on June 17, 1967 in Dubuque at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. After high school she worked as a telephone operator at Northwestern Bell in Dubuque Iowa. In 1968 Maureen and Bill moved to Cascade, IA where she worked as a teller at the Cascade State Bank. Maureen was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sigourney, the Retired Teachers Association, The Red Hat Society and was also a scout leader. Maureen was so humble that she would not consider her selflessness as virtuous.
