Mary Magdlen Webb, 91 died March 26, 2018 at the Keokuk County Health Center in Sigourney. She was born December 27, 1926 to Constant Peter and Lena Mary Vogel Hammes in South Plank Township in Keokuk County, Iowa. Mary attended Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic School at Clear Creek. On September 3, 1946 she married Paul Etheldred Webb at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. They lived and farmed northeast of Sigourney. Mary was employed as a cook at the Keokuk County home until its closing and later cooked at Sigourney High School for over 16 years. Mary moved to Sigourney in 2012. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Altar and Rosary Society, Friendly 16 Club, Keokuk County Historical Society, and was a 4-H leader for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul on May 30, 1988, granddaughter Jessica Webb, great-granddaughter Regina Huff, two sisters: Clarissa Hammes and Marcella Schneider, five brothers: Orville, Eldred, Paul, Charles and Robert Hammes.
She is survived by her children Jean (Ernie) Birchmier of Cantril, Ed (Joyce) Webb of Sigourney, Mary Kay (Dick) Shepherd of Eddyville, Charles (Joyce) Webb of Oskaloosa, Tom (Vickie) Webb of Sigourney, Janis (Ron) Collins of What Cheer, and John (Jona) Webb of Sigourney, 18 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, one brother Norbert of Fairfield and one sister Kathryn Krier of Sigourney.
