Marilyn (Mary) Maxine Walker 89, died September 10, 2019 at the Keokuk County Hospital in Sigourney, Iowa. She was born December 22, 1929 to Bruce and Bernice Bartholow Frescoln near Batavia, Iowa. She graduated from Batavia High School. On February 15, 1948 she married Milford Eugene Walker at the Batavia Methodist Church. They lived and farmed in the Hedrick area until their retirement and they moved into Hedrick in 1991 and later moved to Sigourney in 2004. Mary loved her flowers, gardening, playing bridge, she was a great cook and seamstress and enjoyed attending the Iowa State Fair. She enjoyed spending time with her family, she was especially proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her and she never met a stranger. She was a member of the Sigourney United Methodist Church, Lydia’s Red Hats and volunteered at the Manor House Care Center and Keokuk County Hospice Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Milford on February 15, 2011, an infant sister Phyllis, two sons Jon and Jack Walker.
She is survived by her sons Jim (Carol) Walker of Carmel Indiana, Joe (Peg) Walker of Hedrick, daughter-in-law Susan “Midge” Walker of Sigourney, 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, two sisters Melva (John) Dahl of Fairfield and Ruth Riggs of Amana.
Memorials maybe directed to the Keokuk County Hospice.
