Marlene Meyer

Charlotte Marlene Meyer 86 died July 14, 2026, at her home. She was born June 5, 1940, in Sigourney, Iowa to Goldie Claudine and Horace LeRoy Crouse in Sigourney. She graduated from Sigourney High School in 1958. After graduation Marlene and friends moved to Minneapolis to begin stewardess school, but she was offered a job at the telephone company and met Frank Kahler. She married Frank Kahler in 1959 in Minnesota. Later she married David W. Meyer on January 26, 1973. Marlene was a stay-at-home mom and later worked for Dayton’s department store, which is now Macy's Department Store, retiring in 2009. In 2009, Marlene moved back to Sigourney to be with family. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marlene enjoyed shopping, antiquing, and taking care of her flowers.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband David W. Meyer.

She is survived by her children Kathy (Larry) Utterback of Sigourney, Giff Kahler of Sigourney, stepchildren Ken Meyer, Tim Meyer, Mike Meyer and Tom Meyer, grandchildren Eryn (Mac) O’Rourke, Andrew (Allie) Utterback, great- grandchildren Sloane, Arlowe, and Adaline. One brother Larry (Linda) Crouse of Sigourney.

Visitation: Monday July 20, 2026 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Holm Funeral Home 
Private Family Burial at a Later Date.
