Mark Alan Sheetz, 72, passed away on June 7, 2025 at home in Sigourney, Iowa. He was born on October 27, 1952, to Charles & Helen (Flander) Sheetz in Sigourney.
Mark married Cyrena Stanley and graduated from Sigourney High School in 1970. He would always let you know his class was the first class to graduate from the new high school. He attended William Penn College. He had his first child, Kyle Sheetz, in 1974. Mark & Cyrena later divorced.
On December 7, 1979 he married Trudy (Caviness) Miller in Fairfield, Iowa. Mark & Trudy moved to Nederland, Texas in 1982. Mark & Trudy had a son, Bryce, in the spring of 1983. They then had a baby girl, Kimi Jo, in the fall of 1984.
Mark was employed at ANR Pipeline Company, El Paso Gas, and TransCanada during his 30 year career. Mark, Trudy, and Kimi returned to Sigourney in 2000 and he retired in 2012. Mark enjoyed motorcycles, welding, racing, especially Wood Racing, all sports, but his favorite sport was baseball.
Mark had a heart of gold, always taught others to be humble, and enjoyed having a cold one with his friends. Mark's true pride & joys in life were his grandchildren. He loved seeing his grandchildren, taking them on Rover rides, and cheering them on at all their events.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Trudy.
He is survived by his brother Mickey Sheetz of Illinois, his children, Bryce (Devin) Sheetz of Colorado, Kimi (Mike) Hernandez of Sigourney, Kyle (Penny) Sheetz of Leon, Milo (Jen) Miller of Colorado, Troy (Chay) Miller of Texas, and 12 grandchildren.
