Margaret Clara Striegel, 92, died March 1, 2014 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center in Ottumwa, Iowa. She was born May 4, 1921 to Michael and Margaret Sondag Redlinger on the family farm on Highway 92 near Harper, as a twin sister to Miriam. She graduated from St. Elizabeth Catholic High School in Harper. After High School she was employed as a maid for Winn Gretter. On November 6, 1947 she married John Joseph Striegel at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Harper. Margaret worked at many restaurants around the Hedrick area, she loved to cook, sew, quilt and being a homemaker. She was a member of St .Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney and the Alter and Rosary Society.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John on May 17, 1998, one brother Edwin Redlinger, two sisters Miriam McArtor her twin and Dorothy Conrad.
She survived by her children Kathleen (LaVerne) Cavin of Hedrick, Mary (Michael) Lloyd of Hedrick, Betty Schrader of Hedrick, Barbara Wilson of Hedrick, Steve Striegel of Hedrick, Marlene (Dan) Bailey of Ottumwa, 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, two sisters Winifred Wehr and Bernadette Redlinger of Sigourney, two brothers Francis Redlinger of Marengo and Laverne Redlinger of Brighton.
