Marcalene Seaba

September 15, 1927 — October 18, 2008

Marcalene Elsie Seaba, 81, died October 18, 2008 at the Sigourney Care Center. She was born September 15, 1927 near Keswick, Iowa to John and Elsie Messinger Bonnater. She graduated from Thornburg High School in 1945 and graduated from cosmetology school in 1947. She worked as a beautician at Keystone, Oskaloosa and Sigourney. She later worked at Look Magazine in Des Moines. On July 3, 1953 she married Dean Ernest Seaba in Riverside, California. They lived and farmed in the Lancaster area. She was employed at Kingsbury Homes and Perfex in Washington. They showed draft ponies for 25 years. She won the Ladies Cart Class at the Iowa State Fair in 1991. They won State Fair draft pony team in 1991, 1994 and 1996. She also showed Angus heifers at the State Fair in the open class for many years. Her life's desire was Angus cattle.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Lynn Seaba on November 16, 2005, one sister Shirley Bonnater.
Those left to mourn her passing are her husband Dean, one grandson Justin Seaba, one granddaughter Jennifer Dvorak, four great grandchildren.

Funeral Service: Tuesday October 21, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at Holm Funeral Home
Burial: Doggett Cemetery near Sigourney
Visitation: Monday 6:00 - 8:00 P.M.
