Lorene E. Herman

Lorene E. Herman, 91, of Des Moines formerly of Harper, died Wednesday at Kavanagh House in Des Moines following an extended illness. She was born July 24, 1917 near Harper, Iowa to Anton C. and Anna M. Schulte Herman. She graduated from St. Elizabeth High School and attended Des Moines Area Community College. She was a bookkeeper at Iowa Pack in Des Moines for over 25 years. She was a member of St. Augustin Catholic Church in Des Moines and Altar and Rosary Society. Lorene volunteered at St. Vincent DePaul and was very faithful to her church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Omer Herman, two brother-in-laws John Snakenberg, John Van Otegham, niece Elaine Van Otegham.
Those left to mourn her passing are three brothers Elmer (Cecilia) Herman of Sigourney, Howard Herman of Harper, Myron (Elva) Herman of Harper, two sisters Bernadine Van Otegham of Victor, Marcella Snakenberg of Harper, sister-in-law Clara Herman of Sigourney, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. Monday at St Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney.
Visitation 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Holm Funeral Home in Sigourney, where a Prayer Service will begin a 5:00.
Burial St Elizabeth Cemetery, Harper.

A memorial fund has been established.
