Leroy Harold Kracht went to be with the Lord On January 6, 2017. Leroy was born February 15, 1926, near Hayesville, the son of Emil and Dora Bruns Kracht. He graduated Sigourney High School and then enlisted in the United States Navy three days before his 18th birthday. Leroy served in the South Pacific, Guadalcanal, New Hebrides, and Fiji Islands. He was on the Fiji Islands on V-E Day and also V-J Day. He served from February 1944 to May 1946. He married Luetta Barnhart on December 19, 1948 at the Presbyterian Church in Sigourney. They farmed south of Sigourney all their married life. He was a member of the Lancaster Christian Church and served as an Elder for many years. He was a seed corn salesman over 50 years. Leroy was a quiet man that spoke wisdom, honesty, and gentleness. He was a husband, dad, and grandpa never to be forgotten.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dean.
Leroy is survived by his wife, Luetta, and two daughters and one son who were his life: Pauline and husband Lonnie Bell; Janet and husband Bob Renner; and Wayne and wife Kathy Kracht. Leroy had nine grandchildren: Kimberly (Mike) DeWeese, Lonnie L. (Jenny) Bell, Annette Shafranek, David (Rebekah) Bell, Jennifer (Jeremy) Pressler, Brooke (Daniel) Wynja, Lindsay Renner (Pat) Theobald, Neil (Bobbie Jo) Kracht, and Amanda (Tom) Ward. He also had many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Burial: Pleasant Grove Cemetery
Visitation: Sunday 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. Holm Funeral Home
