Leland Heisdorffer, born March 30, 1936 passed away surrounded by family on August 3, 2026. Born to Edythe and Albert Heisdorffer and raised with stepfather Joe Williams, Leland’s work ethic was engrained at the age of ten when he would go on carpentry jobs with his maternal Grandpa McConnell.
Leland married Bonnie Coghlan on September 6, 1958. Together they raised four children: Steve (Janet) Heisdorffer, LuAnn (Wayne) Miller, Tim (Emma) Heisdorffer, and Kelly (Annette) Heisdorffer. He has 10 surviving grandchildren: Sara Miller, Carly Wells, Christopher Clubb, Jessica Clubb, Cory Clubb, Analise Bluemel, Taylor Bluemel, Paige Hoffer, Juliann Heisdorffer and Isaac Heisdorffer. He has 7 great-grandchildren: Skylar Clubb, Klynt Clubb, Harley Clubb, Olivia Clubb, Emberlynn Clubb, Erica Clubb, and Riott Martin.
Known for his work ethic, Leland spent years in road, bridge, and culvert construction before going into farming and a wide variety of agricultural equipment sales. Customer service was paramount; not only did he sell the equipment, he personally worked on them when service was needed. One farmer proclaimed him the best welder in the county. The dedication to customers extended after-hours and on weekends. Besides farming and the dealership, Leland’s entrepreneurial spirit included a repair shop, a field tiling business, constructing and dredging ponds, and building terraces. Later in life he owned rentals and a retirement park in South Texas.
Leland earned his pilot’s license, using it to fly small, single engine aircraft to road construction sites and later outings with the family, often performing aerial stunts. Whether flying planes or boating on the Mississippi, he enjoyed adventure however he found it. Education was important too, just not in the traditional sense. He believed if you weren’t learning something new everyday, you weren’t working hard enough.
Leland was preceded in death by parents Edythe and Albert Heisdorffer, stepfather Joe Williams, grandson Joshua Clubb, granddaughter Martina Heisdorffer, siblings Ken Heisdorffer, David Heisdorffer, and Roger Heisdorffer.
