Kathy Long

Kathryn Ann Long, 77, died September 24, 2014 at the Keokuk County Health Center in Sigourney, Iowa. She was born July 22, 1937 to Doney and Lola Ritter Smich near Keswick, Iowa. She attended Sigourney schools. On July 26, 1958 she married Dale Arthur Long in Sigourney. She was employed at the Sigourney Maid-Rite. They lived near Sigourney and moved to Hayesville in 1966. She later stayed at home, raising her daughters and taking care of her family. She was baptized at the Kinross Christian Church by Jim Stout.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Wanda Baird and Gladys Finch, three brothers Kenneth McKinney, Wesley Smich and John Smich.
She is survived by her husband Dale, two daughters Sherrie (Richard) Casper of Hayesville, Connie (Bryon) Hershey of Oskaloosa, four grandchildren Stephanie Casper Anderson, Ryan Hershey, Michael Hershey and Tiffany Hershey Rockwell, and six great grandchildren, and her sister Ida Mae Lance.
