June Soland

Wilma “June” Soland, 92 of Sigourney, died September 11, 2020 at Keokuk County Health Center in Sigourney. She was born on June 6, 1928 in Decorah, Iowa to Orlando and Evelyn Kvamme. She graduated from Decorah High School in 1946.

On June 27, 1948 she married Robert “Bob” Soland in Glenwood Lutheran Church in Decorah. In 1953 they moved to Sigourney where she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and worked at Sigourney Middle School as secretary to the Principal from 1968 to 1982.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Surviving are her brother, Raymond Kvamme, of Decorah, IA; her daughter, Julie (Bob) of Belleair, FL; her sons, Mike (Joan) of Sugarland, TX and Dan (Dottie) of West Chester, PA; five grandchildren, Stacy, Courtney, Christyn, Ben and Kate; and six great grandchildren, Caleb, Abby, Emily, Boden, Julia and Eleanor.
