Juanita Edith Etter passed away at the age of 92 on July 12, 2013, at the Manor House in Sigourney, Iowa. She was born September 24, 1920, to Earl and Hilda Koch Sterrett in What Cheer, Iowa. She graduated from What Cheer High School. On September 16, 1948, she married Cotton Etter of Sigourney, Iowa.
Mrs. Etter was a devoted wife and mother to her husband, Cot, and her three children, Susan, Mary, and Bob. The family traveled extensively to Canada, Mexico, and all places in-between. After the death of her husband, Cotton, in 1978, she continued to travel, mostly to Texas, Florida, Washington, and California. She loved her birds and flowers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters, Margaret Morrow, Elsie Fowler, and a brother, Dick Sterrett.
She is survived by her children, Susan and husband Steven Dean of Las Vegas, Nevada; Mary Etter and husband James Shotwell of Austin, Texas; Robert and wife Gwen Etter of Sigourney; five grandchildren, John and Eric Dean, Tracie Rayburn, Katie and Daniel Etter; and two great-grandchildren, Mason and Avery Rayburn. She is also survived by three brothers, Don, Everret and Bernard Sterrett; and one sister, Bernice Langstraat.

A private graveside service is planned. Holm Funeral Home is in charge of services.
