Joyce Webb

October 8, 1952 — May 26, 2025

Hayesville

Joyce Ann Webb, 72, of Hayesville, Iowa, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on May 26, 2025.

Joyce was born on October 8, 1952, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, to Donald and Lucille (Little) Harper. She grew up on the family farm in rural Keswick alongside her two brothers, where she developed a lifelong love for animals and the land. Joyce graduated from Tri-County High School in 1970 and went on to earn her degree as a Radiologic Technologist from the University of Iowa.

On August 29, 1972, Joyce married Ed Webb. Together, they shared 52 wonderful years of marriage, raising their two sons, Christopher Edward and Scott Paul, and building a life rooted in love, family, and farming.

Joyce devoted her career to caring for others, working as an X-ray technician for Dr. Jutabha in Sigourney from 1976 until their retirement in 2001. She also served patients at Ottumwa Regional Hospital.

A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Joyce’s family was her greatest joy. She was the proud grandmother of six beloved grandchildren: Zebulen, Zeke, Zoe, Olivia, Finley, and Wyatt Webb. Her love for them knew no bounds, and her face would light up when talking about their accomplishments and adventures.

Joyce had a unique spirit and a deep love for life on the farm. She had a passion for exotic animals and delighted in sharing her ever-growing menagerie with her grandchildren and visitors alike. From emus to llamas, peacocks to even a bear, Joyce & Ed’s farm was a place of wonder and warmth.

She was the heart of her family and the glue that held everyone together. Whether delivering meals to the fields during harvest or checking in on others. Joyce had a way of making everyone feel cared for. She never met a stranger, had a gift for conversation, and was always the first to lend a hand or offer a kind word.

Joyce is preceded in death by her father, Donald Harper; brother, Alan Harper; and parents-in-law, Paul and Mary Webb.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ed Webb of Hayesville; sons Chris (Shannon) Webb of Hayesville and Scott (Kelli) Webb of Cosgrove; grandchildren Zebulen (Kenzie), Zeke, Zoe, Olivia, Finley, and Wyatt Webb; her mother, Lucille Harper; her brother Andy (Sheree) Harper and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

Joyce’s legacy of love, generosity, and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
