Joanne Hauschild

Joanne Michele Hauschild, 67, died April 20, 2026. She was born May 14, 1958 to Harold and Rose (Bodeman) Hauschild. Jo graduated from Newton High School in 1979 and then worked at Progress Industries in Newton, where she lived in an assisted living facility for several years. In 2008 she moved to First Resources in Sigourney and worked at the First Resources Vocational Site. Jo moved to the Manor House in 2023. Jo loved being a girly girl, getting her nails done and wearing lots of jewelry. She enjoyed coloring, watching musicals and Disney movies, playing with babies, and was a very competitive UNO player and often announced her title of “queen of Uno.” She was also known to sing to her favorites with great gusto. She enjoyed playing pranks and joking with others, but was not a fan of getting teased back, which she made very clear.

Jo is preceded in death by her parents, step mother Marianna Hauschild, and brother Jerry Hauschild.

She is survived by her brothers James Hauschild of Hayesville, John (Emma) Hauschild of Hayesville, nieces Rose (Rob) Fisher, Jen (Travis) Luettjohann, Shana (Luke) Turnipseed, great nephews Dayne Fisher, Aiden Knepper, Jace Luettjohann, Jack Turnipseed, and great niece Korie Jo Turnipseed. 

Visitation: Wednesday , April 22, 2026 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Holm
Funeral Home Funeral Service: Thursday, April 23, 2026 10:30 a.m. at Be The Light Ministry - Sigourney.
Burial: Humes Cemetery near What Cheer.
