Jimmy David Wilcox, 74, died August 6, 2015 at Serenity House in Oskaloosa, Iowa. He was born September 11th, 1940 to David and Dorothy May Armstrong Wilcox at the family home near Parnell, Iowa. Jim attended Plank #10, and Geribaldi county schools. He graduated from Sigourney High School in 1959. On July 30, 1961 he married Rose Marie Chittick at St. Paul Evangelical and Reformed Church in Sigourney. He was employed at Aldinger Implement, R.L. Schott Implement and he retired from Sigourney Tractor. Jim sang and played rhythm guitar at the What Cheer Opera House for five years in the 90's.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Carol.
He is survived by his wife Rose, two sons Jerry Wilcox of Delta, Jeff (Diana) Wilcox of Ollie, one daughter Anita (Alan) Sawyer of Oskaloosa, five grandchildren Autumn Wilcox, Jesse (Amy) Wilcox, Anna (Patrick) Myers, Josh (Brittney) Sawyer, Adam Sawyer. Four great grandchildren, one brother Dick (Peg) Wilcox of Perry and eight nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service: Monday - August 10, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. Holm Funeral Home
Visitation: Sunday 3:00 - 5:00 P.M.
A memorial fund has been established to the What Cheer Opera House, or Serenity Hospice House in Oskaloosa.
