Jim Johnson

Jim Johnson Sr., 69, of Delta formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. He was born June 12, 1943 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to William and Vera Ferguson Johnson. He attended School in Cedar Rapids. Jim served in the United States Marines. He was married to Jane Adams. They were later divorced. He lived in Cedar Rapids and was employed at the University of Iowa. On May 28, 1988 he married Ruth Eilene Shannon Eldridge in Sigourney. They lived north of Delta.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Jesse Johnson, a brother Dean Johnson, and a sister Shirley Johnson.
He was survived by his wife Ruth Eldridge Johnson of Delta, a son James Johnson Jr. of Marion, a sister Beverly Nye of Hiawatha, and several stepchildren.

Graveside service 2:00 p.m. Friday, Dunkard Cemetery rural Toddville.
Visitation 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Holm Funeral Home in Sigourney.

A memorial fund has been established.
