Jewel Fry

Jewel Helen Fry, 86, passed on the afternoon of April 2, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. Jewel was born November 3, 1937 to Clarence Milton and Helen Marie Scmidt Crile, in Scotia, California.  She attended school in Fortuna, California.   Jewel met and married the love of her life Elery Lavone Fry in Scotia, California on December 13, 1953. Jewel and Elery later moved back to Keokuk County Iowa. Later Elery and Jewel moved back to California from 1956 to late 1958. They then settled and planted their roots back in Iowa in late 1958. Jewel worked at Head start in Oskaloosa and the New Sharon Care Center.  The couple moved South of Blakesburg in 1980.

Jewel was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Helen Crile, husband Elery Fry on October13, 2021, two sons Gerald Fry and Arlin Fry, brothers Lee Crile, Chuck Crile, and daughter-in-law  Rosy Fry.

She is survived by her 4 Sons and only Daughter, Ronald Fry, Alan Fry, both of Moravia, Elery Fry Jr of Decatur, TN, Melvin (Rosie) Fry of Eddyville and Lila (Tim) Knowler of Eddyville. 10 Grandchildren, 24 Great Grandchildren and 6 Great-Great Grandchildren, sisters Anna Jefferies of Rio Dell California, Betty Crile of Eureka, California,  Katherine Csendes of Huthison, K, Eva Dorine Regnier of Eureka, Califonia, Lela Mahoney of Huthison, Kansas, brothers, Bill Crile of Silome, Arkansas, and Clarence “Spike” Crile of Haven, Kansas.  Along with many loved ones and friends.
