James “Jim” Howard Kerr, 61, of Sigourney, Iowa, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 1, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 27, 1958, in Sigourney, Iowa. He was the son of Kenneth Max and Rose Mary (Flack) Kerr. He graduated from Sigourney High School in 1976. Jim was married to the love of his life, Linda Kae Lobberecht, on October 28, 1978, at the Methodist Church in Eddyville, Iowa. Jim was employed at John Deere in Ottumwa, Keokuk County Roads Department, Keokuk County Health Center, and Kerr Construction. Jim was a member of the Sigourney Christian Church, and was a union steward. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing, camping, and game hunting. Jim never knew a stranger, and was often known as Turnip to his friends. He was very devoted to his family and his eight grandchildren; he was so proud of them.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Kerr; and his in-laws.
Jim is survived by his wife, Linda; four children Marissa (Kevin) Halstead, their children Henry and Avery; MacKenzy (Amey) Kerr, their children Cason, Baylor, Abel, and Colton; Maranda (Andy) Hinnah, their children Everett and Atticus; and Matthew Kerr; his mother Rose Mary Kerr; one sister, Debra Beaty, her daughter, Casey (Brad) Melhus; one brother; Billy Joe Worley; and many loving brother and sister in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
