Jack Ray Walker, 58, of Sigourney, Iowa passed away on February 10, 2016. Jack was born on September 20, 1957 to Milford and Mary Frescoln Walker in Ottumwa, Iowa. Jack graduated from Hedrick High School in 1975 and he attended Indian Hills Community College where he graduated with an Associate of Arts degree in Culinary Arts. On July 1, 1983 he married Susan Keoppel at his parent's farm house near Hedrick, Iowa.
Together they lived in Ottumwa, Cedar Rapids, and Davenport as Jack pursued his career in the automotive industry. They later moved back to Ottumwa where he farmed. In 1989 he purchased Bill and Ray's Chrysler Plymouth Dodge in Sigourney and worked as owner and operator of Jack Walker Chrysler Dodge Jeep for 26 years until his retirement in July 2015. Jack started in the car industry at the age of 16 and worked in various capacities of the business. He also started his love of farming at a young age with his father. Even after opening his own dealership, Jack continued to farm because he loved working with his cattle. Jack loved everyone and never knew a stranger. He was always there if someone needed him, if only to put a smile on their face.
Jack had many passions, his favorite was family and friends, especially being Apa to his granddaughter Kensley. He enjoyed having morning coffee at his dealership and "talking" with every customer. Jack really enjoyed mushrooming, traveling, golfing, hunting, fishing, and recently wintering in Florida.
