Helen Follman, 83, died November 1, 2012 at the Sigourney Care Center. She was born August 23, 1929 in the Tick Ridge area near Ollie, the daughter of William Leslie and Margaret Wood Northup. She graduated from Ollie High School in 1948. On January 18, 1950 she married Wilford Leon Follman at the Christian Church parsonage in Sigourney. She was employed at Bruns Feed Store, Westside Café, Townhouse Café, Joe's Café, the Maid-Rite, and Blackie's Super Value. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and was a Girl Scout Leader.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wilford on December 1, 1994, a son Robert Follman, 2 grandchildren Jessie and Michael Follman, 3 sisters Mildred Follman, Virginia Schmidt, Neoma Gott, and a brother William Northup.
She is survived by her children Nancy and husband Monte Bird of Sigourney, Joe Follman of Delta, Mary and husband Derrel Clubb of Ottumwa, Bill and wife Monica Follman of Urbandale, Cindy Follman and friend Johnny DeSmet of Victor, Sarah and husband Keith McCain of Wellman, 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Betty Derby of Sigourney, and Louise Atchison of Oskaloosa.

Burial: Pleasant Grove Cemetery Sigourney
Visitation: 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday Holm Funeral Home
