Glen Augustine Steinhart, 82, died January 28, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Home in Ottumwa, Iowa. He was born August 29, 1934 to August and Velma Irene Kleinschmidt Steinhart near Sigourney, Iowa. He graduated from Sigourney High School in 1954 and attended Iowa State University. Glen enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. On September 10, 1960 he married Donna Clare Potter at the United Methodist Church in Sigourney. He was employed by Oley Potter Plumbing, Boyd Rummelhart and later Muller Plumbing and Heating and he retired in 1998. Glen enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing, farming and auctions. He was a member of the United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents August and Velma Steinhart, sister Nell Weber, brother Duane Steinhart and granddaughter Samantha Steinhart.
He is survived by his wife Donna, three sons Brad (Mary) Steinhart, Barry Steinhart, Mark Steinhart all of Sigourney, eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three brothers Harold (Shirley) Steinhart of Sigourney, Wilmer (Katherine) Steinhart of Urbandale, Terry (Marsha) Steinhart of Sigourney, one sister-in-law Pat Steinhart of Colorado.
