Glen Baumert, 72, died April 21, 2008, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. He was born September 4, 1935 near Keota Iowa to Floyd and Pearl Brock Baumert. He attended Keota High School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. On March 21, 1972 he married Rebecca German Moon at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.
He was employed as a meat cutter at Hy-Vee Food Stores in Iowa City for over 25 years. He was a member of the Farm Bureau.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Paul Baumert, Howard Baumert, Duane Baumert and a sister Norma Baumert.
Those left to mourn his passing are his wife, step-son Steven and wife Cassandra Moon of Nichols, step-daughter Laura and husband Steven Cozad Creston, three step grandchildren, two step- great- grandchildren, five sisters: Dorothy Dorsey of Sigourney, Marilyn Van Fleet of North English, Darlene Streets of Gladbrook, Margaret Burk of Bucklin, Missouri and Loretta Streigle of Sigourney; five brothers: Donald Baumert of Burlington, Harry Baumert of Sigourney, Dennis Baumert of Keota, Larry Baumert of Marion and Gene Baumert of Keota.
