Ena Aline Disney, 94, died Sunday, June 5, 2011, in Weiser, Idaho. She was born March 7, 1917, twin daughter of Elwin Monroe Lewis and wife Nellie May (Pardun) Lewis in Washington County, Iowa.
During her early years she and her twin sister, Una Irene Lewis sang for church programs, school activities, and for the opening of the new Post Office in Wellman.
Ena graduated from Washington High School in May 1935 with honors in typing and was presented a pin for her achievement. She was also recognized as High Student in her class as a Sophomore.
Ena married Richard C. (Dick) Disney on July 4, 1937. Dick was an industrious, honest, compassionate and loving husband. They celebrated their 65 wedding anniversary on July 4, 2002. They had one son Richard E. Disney of Weiser, Idaho, four grandsons Richard Alan Disney of Reno, Nevada, Ryan Earl Disney of Sacramento, California, twins Reed Alan Disney of Meridian Idaho, Roy Stephen Disney of Uba City, California, and 9 great-grandchildren.
Ena worked as a legal Executive secretary for 32 years including 12 years for the Keokuk County Attorney and was a Notary Public for years. She was elected to the Republican Central Committee two years, the Republican County Convention three times and helped campaign for Charles Grassley our current United States Senator.
Ena won 2nd place in the 125th Sesquicentennial in the Anniversary Belles Old Fashioned Style Show held August 13, 1969 in the Courtyard, Sigourney, making her own yellow taffeta dress as was required by the committee.
Ena was a member of the Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War 1861 - 1865, was awarded a Certificate of Honorable Recognition for the poem she sent to the National Department on the Constitution "200" Year contest held at the National Convention in Spokane, Washington. She served as president of our local Isabelle Higgins Tent #37 for 18 years, and was president of our local chapter when we celebrated our 50th Anniversary on March 22, 1976 here in Sigourney. She was elected president 3 times to the Department (State), and 3 times to Department Chief-of Staff. She crocheted 3 afghans for the Iowa State Convention. Ena was the granddaughter of two Civil War Veterans namely: Abraham Pardun and Jerome Monroe Lewis.
She was member of the Methodist Church and the Sigourney Women's Club - Music Division for many years. Ena had resided in Weiser, Idaho, by her son since 2008.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Richard C. (Dick) Disney on August 8, 2002, 3 brothers, Everette, William, and Bernard Lewis, 4 sisters Phebe Maie Hines, Retha Leona Lewis, Vida Ferne Lewis, and her twin Una Irene Strendberg-TeBockhorst.

Services: Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at the Holm Funeral Home Sigourney, Iowa
Visitation: Wednesday 11:00 A.M. until service time.
Burial: Keota Cemetery, Keota. Iowa
