Elsie May Bruns

Elsie May Bruns, 69, September 21, 2008 at University Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. She was born December 6, 1938 in Sigourney, Iowa to Alfred Morrison and Katharine Emma Cassens Northup. She graduated from Sigourney High School in 1957. On June 11, 1961 she married John Wayne "Pee Wee" Bruns at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Sigourney. She was employed by Keokuk County Courthouse serving in the Auditor and Assessors offices, retiring in 2005.
She was a member of United Methodist Church, Martha's Circle, the Iowa Stock Horse Association, Iowa Quarter Horse Association, and TOPPS. She loved her family, grandchildren, horses, and knitting. She played organ at many churches and funerals.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter Christine Bruns.
Those left to mourn her passing is her husband Pee Wee, two sons Greg and wife Darcy Bruns of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Tim and wife Sara Bruns of Sigourney, daughter Mary and husband Randy Brainard of Sigourney, five grandchildren Alysia Simmons, Carsen Bruns, Matt Brainard, Isaac Bruns and Camden Bruns.

Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at the United Methodist Church in Sigourney.
Burial: Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Sigourney.
Visitation: After 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Sigourney where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.
