Eleanor Shifflett

Eleanor K. Shifflett, 97, died December 7, 2008 at the Manor House in Sigourney, Iowa. She was born September 15, 1911 south of Bethel Church to Fredrick and Wilhemina Strubing Schultz. She attended country school. On February 12, 1932 she married Virgil LeRoy Shifflett in Sigourney. She was a homemaker and later worked as a food server for the English Valley Schools. She enjoyed crocheting doilies, braiding rugs reading and crosswords puzzles. She was a member of the Webster Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Virgil in 1970 and a son-in- law Dean Yates, four sisters Anna Conrad, Freda Hinnah, Dorothy Adrian, Sophie Fritchen, two brothers Paul Schultz, and Willie Schultz.
Those left to mourn her passing are her children Dean and wife Carol Shifflett of Webster, Marian Yates of Sigourney, Colleen and husband Robert Wilkerson of North English, 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
