Earlene Morrison

Earlene Leora Seaba Morrison, 76, died Monday, August 17, 2009 at her home. She was born June 25, 1933 in Plank Township, the daughter of Benjamin and Letha Ulin Seaba. She graduated from Sigourney High School in 1951. On June 7, 1951, she married Merle Morrison at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney. Following marriage the couple lived and farmed in the Sigourney area. She was a homemaker and a dairy farmer.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney. She enjoyed quilting and was involved in many clubs memberships and quilt guilds including Women's Club, 4-H, Altar and Rosary Society, Oskaloosa Quilt Guild, Country Quilters, and the Keokuk County Historical Society. Earlene enjoyed going on bus trips. The past few weeks she spent her time making quilts for Juvenile Arthritis Foundation.
She is survived by three sons, Leland (Sandy) of Burlington, Ron of Ollie and Doug of Marengo; nine daughters Rita (Mel) Keller of Rock Hill, SC, Carol of Littleton, CO, Barbara of Washington, Doris (Stuart) Derby of Marengo, Karen (Tom) Gettings of Ankeny, Rose of Middle Amana, Mary of Davenport, Connie (Ray) Allen of LeClaire and Annette of Littleton, CO, 17 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, a sister Betty Alderson of Sigourney; five brothers, Kenneth of Webster, Don of Atalissa, Keith of North English, Gordon of Brighton, and Stanley of Wellman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Merle on October 27, 2003; brother Eugene, and a granddaughter Ashley Derby.

Services: Thursday at 10:30 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney
Burial: St. Mary Cemetery Sigourney
Visitation: Wednesday after 5:00 P.M. at St Mary Catholic Church with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M.
