Donald Shy

Donald Keith Shy, 89, died November 27, 2016 at the Sigourney Health Care Center in Sigourney, Iowa. He was born April 26, 1927 to Earl and Opal May Sheraden Shy near Ollie, Iowa. He graduated from Ollie High School in 1945 and served in the United States Army during World War II. On August 25, 1948 he married Thelma Irene Reinier at the Delta Christian Church in Delta. They lived and farmed near Ollie and later was employed at Vision Ag as a truck driver for several years. He was a member of Richland American Legion and the Ollie Masonic Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter Sharon Shy, son Ronnie Shy, sister Betty Wonderlich and brother Billy Shy.

He is survived by his wife Thelma, two daughters Sandra (Kenneth) Sobaski of Ollie, Melinda Freeman of Fairhope, Alabama, 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren.
